NIGERIA AT 48 - OUR ACHIEVEMENTS

On the 1st of October, 2008, Nigeria will be 48 years old. So what has she achieved so far?

The list below is by no means exhaustive, neither is it in any particular order. Let's go!!!

--Any newly manufactured car gets to Nigeria first before anywhere else.
--We are the most flamboyant of the blacks worldwide
-Our fashion designers have world acclaim more than other subsaharan designers
-We produced Emeagwali who developed the supercomputer
-We won the first olympic gold medal in football
-We are the first black nation to produce Miss World, or rather, we produced the first black Miss World
-Our musicians are among the top most popular in the world
-We have the highest number of literate individuals in the USA
-We are ubiquitous,- if you go anywhere, and you do not find an Ibo person there, then that place is uninhabitable
-Nollywood is the third after Hollywood and Bollywood.
-We produced Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, who is acclaimed to be the second best saxophonist in the world.
-We have the highest number of the wealthiest Africans in the world. Infact Dangote is said to be the richest black African
-We are the greatest importers of generators from China in Subsaharan Africa
- We are the most populous black nation
-We also have the highest number of tribes and dialects under one leadership
-We held the largest crusade where about 4 million people gathered in Lagos for Lekki '98
-We own the fastest growing congregation in the world, that is talking about The Redeemed Christian Church of God
-We also produce the fastest growing devotional in the world, that is Rhapsody of Realities
-We were adjudged to be the happiest people on earth
And I think we are the most resilient people as well. Nigeria is a nation of diverse tribes, tongues and cultures. Despite these differences, we have gone to war only once (1967-1970). Other nations in similar circumstances have gone to war several times, or have been fighting for longer periods.
We have been through a lot, yet we still stand. The average Nigerian is hopeful."E go better" (that means,it will be ok) is popular slogan.
Check us out anywhere, we stand out.
Nigeria, we hail thee
Our own dear native land
Though tribe and tongue may differ
In brotherhood we stand..........

I AM PROUD TO BE A NIGERIAN.
To be a Nigerian means to be imbued with the ability to stand against all odds.

Nigerian kwenu! Ya!
Kwenu!! Ya!!!
Kwezu onu ooooo!!!!! Yaaa!!!!

Happy Birthday!
Sorry I'm one day late! :)
What you've written here is really impressive. I didn't know these things about Nigeria and the Nigerian people.
I wonder how you have managed to achieve them. Is it because of your attitude towards? Your optimism?
