Life is not fair, (or is it favour that is not fair)

I was working in the emergency room 2 weeks ago, when a young girl was rushed in amidst noise. I discovered later that the girl was hit by a hit-and-run car and she died immediately. She was coming from church. That day was a sunday. I was sad but forgot all about it. That is until I met the mother. Hmm!!!! I learnt that the girl was her only child. She was supposed to clock 20 this month. The mother is her early 40's. I broke down. Here is a woman who lost her only source of joy to the cold hands of death, while I know of a family of 4 children- one doctor, three engineers; father is a banker, mother is a registered nurse. Is life fair? What was the sin of this woman?

I also know of a woman who married as a virgin, was unable to give birth until her husband died of a protracted illness, and I know of a woman who had terminated 4 pregnancies and now she is married with 4 boys last I heard.

A good man marries a shrew, and a good woman marries a wife-beater.

Someone spends 8 years studying a professional and ends up earning less than the equivalent of a thousand dollars monthly; while someone who can play ball earns millions of pounds yearly.

Someone steals a cow, his hand is cut off. Some others cart away millions and they are honored.

Good people die young, and the wicked live long....doing what?

Healing services are banned from being televised, while sexually explicit content are allowed on our screens.

This unfairness has plagued me for years, until I discovered one truth that I had always read but never understood. It is in the bible, Jeremiah 29:31, "For I know the plans that I have towards you, plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."
Another version reads, "... to give an expected end.: While another reads, "...to give you the future that you hope for."
So what future do I hope for, what future do I expect? I hope and expect a beautiful future, with a lovely family, comfortably rich, being able to provide for the needs of my immediate community, to look back when I am old and smile because I have shared myself with others.
So what future do you hope and expect for yourself? You will get it. Paint a lovely future for yourself, do not leave God out of it, and you will have it.
No matter what is present in your life now, think of what you have left. You are alive and can read this, and for you to be able to read, it means you have the means. There is more working for you than against you, and your best is still coming.
So in conclusion, is life fair? It is not, but you can make it good for yourself.
Till another time, keep seeing the beautiful future you want for yourself.
God bless you.
